Well hello there!
Since I welcomed my first guests in 2005, CJ’s Off the Square has become so much more than just an event venue. It’s a place where we celebrate life’s most important moments. Everything we do at CJ’s is centered on love: the love of natural beauty, great food, laughter and music. The love of slow dancing under the stars with your sweetie or getting crazy with the whole gang on the dance floor. The love of re-connecting with old friends and deepening your connection to new ones. There’s a lot of love at CJ’s Off the Square and I hope you will come to treasure this place as much as I do.
A Little Bit About Us
Located in the heart of historic downtown Franklin, Tennessee, CJ’s Off the Square is an outdoor event venue specializing in garden weddings and rehearsal dinners. The property includes a historic home, event pavilion and garden which can accommodate up to 135 guests. We offer several event packages for any type of celebration and our full-service planning staff is ready to help you with every detail.
The house was built in 1911 and is on the National Register of Historic Places. It was popularly known around Franklin as the home and studio of photographer Sam Causey for nearly forty years. The iron gates made popular in his portraits are still in use today.
Owner CJ Dickson purchased the property in 2004 and after renovation, opened CJ’s Off the Square in the spring of 2005 as greater Nashville’s first full-service event venue. Her vision was to create a warm and inviting space for friends and family to gather and celebrate. She imagined a venue that was not only intimate and full of Southern charm, but also provided a full range of services to provide convenience and value for her clients. It couldn’t be too fussy, but needed to have a formal feel. Oh, and let’s not forget that the food would have to be awesome! This vision came alive when CJ’s Off the Square opened in April of 2005 and CJ’s has been happily hosting weddings and events ever since.
