Ashley + Sean’s Fall Wedding ~ October 24, 2014

Every bride and groom have a million ideas for their big day, and with that comes big challenges. How do you bring all of the different details together into a cohesive, elegant occasion that you and your guests will enjoy? This is where our team here at CJ’s Off the Square thrives. Working with Ashley + Sean to plan their October wedding was the perfect example. The couple came to us with a wonderful vision and great ideas, and together we were able to bring that vision to life. We so enjoyed working with Ashley + Sean to make this beautiful day a memorable one. The kind review Ashley posted for us on Wedding Wire only made us that much more grateful to have worked with her.

“From the day Sean and I stepped foot inside CJ’s Off the Square and met Cj, we knew this was the place we wanted to get married. We were introduced to, Jennifer, our planner who mastered my initial nervous breakdown about style differences and took my ideas, mixed them with hers and came up with what would be the most beautiful wedding any of my friends and family had ever seen.  My friends and family  told me “this was the best wedding they had ever been too.”

Ashley, it was truly a pleasure working with you! We wish you and Sean a lifetime of love and happiness. Big thanks Jenna Henderson Photographer for sharing her gorgeous photography with us!

Allison and Josh’s wedding day was the stuff of fairy tales, from Allison’s gorgeous gown to our garden venue, to the soft pastel details and the lovely September day. We especially loved the bride & groom cakes, and the getaway car was so sleek and classic. All of it came together to create a dreamy, intimate occasion for our beautiful couple to say their I-Do’s. We wish you both a very happily ever after.

Special thanks to Cynthia Michelle Photography for her beautiful images and all the other talented vendors that partnered with us below – Enjoy!

We are currently reviewing applications for 2015 internships at CJ’s Off the Square. If you know a smart and savvy business or hospitality student (or perhaps you are one yourself!) who would like to learn the ropes of weddings and special events, complete our online application.

We have two primary internship periods each year, however the dates are flexible.

  1. Spring/Summer:  April – July
  2. Summer/Fall :  August – November
The primary purpose of our internship program is to give hands on work experience and mentorship in the weddings and
events business. Interns receive a small stipend and may also qualify for college credit. All applicants must be available to work approximately 15 – 20 hours per week and availability to work on Saturdays is required.

Nothing says timeless sophistication quite like a black + white wedding, and Rena + Andy’s wedding was the perfect example of how to keep this look classic and fresh. Balance is key for high-contrast color schemes like this one. In the image below you can see that the black details - such as the napkins, Chiavari chairs and cocktail table linens - don’t overwhelm the scene because they’re balanced with a lot of clean details, from the pintuck linens and ceiling drapery to the all-white florals. Effervescent details balance the natural ones while the sparkle of the crystal curtain chandelier and the natural wood dance floor work together to create a sophisticated balance.

The final look is full of timeless elegance – perfect for the Big Day you’ll reminisce about for years to come!

Prepping for the holidays is not unlike planning a wedding. It’s all about gathering our favorite things – food and family, love and laughter, gratitude and a touch of glamour. We thought we’d share some lovely tablescapes for you to feast on as you get ready for your holidays! Enjoy, friends, and thank you so much for being a part of the CJ family!
