Our talented summer interns, Haley and Ali, participated in a style shoot in July to demonstrate everything they learned from their time on our planning team. Each intern was tasked with creating an original and relevant design for our garden venue. Both looks were absolutely stunning, with rentals from our friends at Southern Events, florals from the talented Enchanted Florist, and gorgeous photos from Jenna Henderson. Enjoy!

P.S. Interested in designing your own style shoot? We are still taking applications for dedicated interns for summer and fall of 2015! learn more HERE.

Style 1#: Rustic Romance, by Haley

“My vision for the tablescape was for guests to feel like they’re attending a party in the forest, a la Snow White, which is why I incorporated wooden elements among  flowers and garland. The deep purples and pops of pink, along with the donut display (courtesy of Five Daughters Bakery), would create a classy yet whimsical gathering for guests, like something out of Alice in Wonderland. The pyramid of donuts was a beautiful and delicious alternative to a traditional floral centerpiece. I think this theme really captures what a wedding should be: something fun that brings people together and makes them feel like they are in a fairytale, at least for a little while. The colors and rustic elements would be great to use as a transition from summer to fall.” -Haley

Style #2: Garden Watercolor, by Ali

“My vision for my table was to create a cheerful, light and airy themed table. I have always thought brightly colored flowers and linens are very pleasing to the eye, especially at weddings. I chose light turquoise napkins since I was going for a coastal inspired color palette. The coral, orange, white and green flowers to add more vibrance to the tablescape and compliment the linens. I also wanted my guests to feel relaxed and at home so I chose the round farm table and cross back chairs. “ -Ali

Looking for an upscale, elegant take on a fall wedding? Katherine and Weston’s November nuptials featured a chic navy and gold palette to compliment those vibrant traditional autumn colors. The seasonal setting is an elegant homage, rather than a heavy-handed theme, with details like the gold pumpkins and colorful floral arrangements. The final result was sophisticated, timeless, and refreshing – exactly the right atmosphere for your Big Day!

McKensie + Nic ~ May 9, 2015

Happy couple McKensie + Nic said their I-Do’s on a gorgeous spring evening and celebrated with an elegant reception in our garden pavilion. The couple choose a classic, timeless wedding style with soft pastel florals, white pintuck linens and navy + gold accents. Their custom-made wooden coasters added a unique personal touch to their wedding favors. Photographer Jenna Henderson did a wonderful job capturing some sweet father-daughter and mother-son moments on the dance floor that night! Best wishes again to McKensie + Nic!

In July, CJ’s Off the Square had the pleasure of hosting a trunk show for BHLDN, Anthropologie’s gorgeous bridal line. The festivities began with a fabulous preview party for local fashion bloggers and wedding planners, followed by a 4-day trunk show. There were veils, jewels, and gowns galore for brides to try on and reserve for their Big Day! The week was a spectacular success, with several girls finding the dress of their dreams. One guest even found her gown, venue and photographer all in one day! Talk about all-inclusive! We were so happy to welcome Sarah and her groom to the CJs calendar.

For more behind-the-scenes loveliness from the BHLDN show, check out our instagram! We hope to host BHLDN again for future events, and we hope that those of you who missed this even will stay tuned for more opportunities later this fall.

Thanks again to the lovely BHLDN staff for making this event possible, and special thanks to Jenna Henderson for these beautiful images!

A Very Marry Occasion 2015 ~ Southern Wedding and Event Style Showcase

In May we hosted our second annual wedding style showcase, A Very Marry Occasion, at CJ’s Off the Square and the results were stunning! Together with a crew of talented vendors, we created a style reminiscent of classic New England garden weddings.

Southern Events Party Rental Company set the scene with their plush white furniture pieces and opulent details, but it was the Enchanted Florist who really made the magic happen, from the crystal chandelier draped in blooms and greenery, to the garland swag framing the garden entrance. The centerpieces were a mix of soft pastels and deep purples. Those rich red peonies and touches of fresh fruit added a lush surprise!

We’re swooning over how Kennedy-esque the model couple looks in their attire! The bride is wearing BHLDN’s gorgeous Briar Rose gown. Her hair and makeup were done by the talented Amanda Gros.

Scrumptious hors d’oeuvres, sweets and drinks were provided by The Bake Shoppe and A Catered Affair, while guests enjoyed music from Premier DJs of Nashville.

Big thanks to Austin Gros for his stunning photography, we’re so thrilled to share them with you!

Every couple wants their wedding day to feel timeless and elegant, yet reflect their personality. Kara and Jason’s destination wedding is a great example of a relaxed and timeless wedding with lots of personal style. Kara loves stripes, so we found ways to subtly incorporate the pattern in sweet, playful details: from the invitation design, to the ribbon wrapped around the flower arrangements, to the runner down the reception tables, to the bride’s sweet pair of striped navy wedges by Toms!

The flowers, designed by the talented team at Enchanted Florist, added cheerful bursts of color in coral peonies and yellow billy balls. The table settings added a touch of simple sophistication with Belmont chargers, sleek flatware, and soft pink linens.
