Butter, lemon, sunny, and more – we love yellows!

Christy was such a fun bride to work with and we loved her fall style – especially her decadent chocolate wedding cake! She and Dustin are so sweet and in love, and it was our pleasure to help their big day come to life. A big thank you to the wonderful Gambill Photography for sharing their photos with us.

Peach was the “it” color of 2012, without a doubt, and this wedding makes it easy to see why! Ami + Andrew were an absolute treat to work with from day one, and I was thrilled when they told me they’d selected Dove Wedding Photography to capture the day. Enjoy all the smiles, gorgeous garden roses, and one of a kind ceremony design!

Here they are, our favorite bridesmaids dresses of last year! Clearly, purple and pink were very popular, and for good reason. I also really loved how so many brides let their bridesmaids choose their own dresses and accessories within a given color palette so that each person could look beautiful and express their own personal style. What a difference that can make! Can’t wait to see what this year brings!

Weddings just don’t get much more fun than this! Cassi + Shawn’s bold summer color scheme matched their fun and vibrant personalities so well, and the owl theme they used (a creature they both came to love through Shawn’s work with them at Auburn University) couldn’t have been any cuter and well executed. Our big thanks to Evin Photography for sharing these photos with us – so good to have her back here at CJ’s again!

What a fun, fabulous night this was! Tavi and Kevin are the sweetest, down to earth couple who wanted to have a beautiful and relaxed evening with their dearest friends and family. From the wedding party’s Chucks to the full dance floor all night, they had a blast in the summer sun! Our many thanks to Mandy Whitley for the wonderful photos!

Ah, how much did I love Jessie’s style?! Some brides just wear and do vintage SO well – this girl could rock a birdcage veil! Jessie + Brandon and their families were so fun to work with that I was sad to see the end of the process. We wish them all the happiness in the world! And our thanks to Tyler Andrews for sharing their photos with us – we love having you around Tyler!

Love this shot – Tyler will be hand-developing the film version of it, which will look AMAZING! Sometimes you just can’t beat film.
As always happens when we have a wedding shot by Brandon Chesbro, I have way too many favorite images to share with you today! I love so many from this wedding, and I know you’ll find a few of your own too. Sarah and Rhett and their lovely, sweet families were such a joy to have, and you can see that in every smile. Sarah was just beaming all night, and once they hit the dance floor – watch out! Too much fun. Enjoy!

One of my absolute favorite shots – so simple but absolutely stunning!

I’m so glad we got to work with Ashlea Terhune one more time before she made the big move to Spokane, WA. She is a great photographer, so if any of you have friends and family in that area, make sure you spread the word to them!
Kit and Janet have been married for 20 years, and decided to have a wonderful renewal celebration to honor their years together. It was a gorgeous night and a great time was had by all! I was especially fond of her color choices – the Wedgewood blue linen from Southern Events is one of my favorite shades, and I liked that she chose to contrast that with some bold pinks and yellow in her flowers. Lovely!

If you came to our Spring 2011 Open House, then you know just how tasty our “CJ’s Summertime” specialty drink was to your taste buds. If you were unable to attend, then you sadly missed out on the delicious concoction created by our very own Miss Amy Parman, Senior Event Planner at CJ’s Off the Square and all around guru when it comes to carrying an event color scheme ALLLLLL the way down to the little details – specialty drink details that is! Want the secret recipe? Here it is…
CJ’s SUMMERTIME:
One part Bénédictine – an herbal liqueur
Lemonade
Spruce of rosemary and small lemon slice garnish
(Shaken not stirred – James Bond style!)
To spice up the look, we added a fun swirl design straw (grey to complement the event color scheme of course) and used a decorative toothpick to hold the rosemary and lemon garnish together. Now wouldn’t your guests LOVE to have a specialty drink, maybe even one created by YOU?! It’s a unique accent to a wedding and a great way to further tie in your wedding style.
For a taste of our next specialty drink, be sure to join us at our fall 2011 Open House on Thursday, October 13th from 5:30 to 8pm. All are welcome to attend (bring a friend!) and gather great ideas for your upcoming wedding or special event. Be sure to RSVP so we make sure we have plenty of yummy food. We’re excited to see you there… and trust me, you won’t want to miss out on this new specialty drink!
